No-Needle glucose monitor: could a wristband replace fingersticks?
NCT ID NCT07425236
First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study tests a wrist-worn device that uses light sensors and AI to estimate blood sugar without piercing the skin. Up to 100 adults with type 1 diabetes, type 2 diabetes, or prediabetes will wear the device for 15 days while researchers collect data to improve its accuracy. Participants won't see their readings and will continue their usual diabetes care.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
KOS Argus Continuous Glucose Monitoring System (noninvasive wrist-worn device)
What this could lead to
If successful, this could lead to a painless, needle-free way to monitor blood glucose for people with diabetes or prediabetes.
What could go wrong
This is an early-stage usability study with no treatment outcomes. The device is still in development and may not be accurate enough for clinical use.
