First seen Feb 04, 2026 · Last updated Apr 30, 2026 · Updated 10 times

Summary

This study looks at 170 adults in the intensive care unit with Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome (ARDS), a severe lung condition. Researchers want to see if a blood test measuring a specific clotting factor can predict which patients will develop a pulmonary embolism (a blood clot in the lungs). Participants will have a blood test at the start and be followed for up to 28 days. The goal is to find a way to identify high-risk patients earlier.
