Which anesthetic best reveals seizure spots in the brain?

NCT ID NCT07165262

First seen Jun 26, 2026 · Last updated Jun 26, 2026

Summary

This study compares two anesthetic drugs, fentanyl and ketamine, to see which one better helps surgeons find seizure-causing brain tissue during epilepsy surgery in children. Eighty-eight children aged 2-18 with brain tumors and epilepsy will receive one of the drugs during surgery. The goal is to improve the accuracy of brain mapping, not to cure the disease.
