Timing of anal fistula surgery may impact healing, new study investigates
NCT ID NCT07482241
First seen Apr 12, 2026 · Last updated Jun 15, 2026 · Updated 13 times
Summary
This study looks at whether the length of time a person has anal fistula symptoms before surgery affects how well they heal. Researchers will follow 90 adults for 12 months after surgery, comparing those who had symptoms for 3 months or less, 3 to 6 months, or more than 6 months. The goal is to see if delays lead to more complications or a higher chance of the fistula returning.
