Scientists hunt for early warning signs of ALS in Patients' blood

NCT ID NCT07268833

Summary

This study aims to discover new biological markers (biomarkers) for Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) to help diagnose the disease earlier and track its progression. Researchers will analyze small nerve and skin samples, along with blood, from 400 participants, including people with ALS, those at genetic risk, and people with other neurological conditions for comparison. The goal is to identify specific proteins in the blood that signal early nerve damage, which could lead to better tests and future treatment targets.
