AI boosts skin diagnosis accuracy for GPs in small trial

NCT ID NCT07428941

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study tested whether an artificial intelligence (AI) tool could help primary care doctors diagnose skin conditions more accurately. Nine doctors reviewed 30 images of various skin problems, first giving their own diagnosis and then a final diagnosis after seeing the AI's suggestions. The goal was to see if the AI improved diagnostic accuracy and helped doctors decide whether a patient needs a specialist referral.
