NCT ID NCT06152289
First seen Jun 24, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study will collect capsule endoscopy images from 10,000 patients to train an artificial intelligence system to detect bowel diseases, Crohn's disease, celiac disease, chronic diarrhea, and tumors. The goal is to improve diagnostic accuracy and reduce the time doctors spend reviewing images. Participants are patients already undergoing capsule endoscopy as part of their routine care.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
Artificial intelligence software
What this could lead to
If successful, this AI could help doctors detect bowel diseases faster and more accurately, reducing reading time and improving diagnosis.
What could go wrong
This is an early-stage development study, not a treatment trial. The AI may not perform better than standard reading, and results may not apply to all patients or settings.
