First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study tests whether pharmacists using a generative AI tool (ChatGPT) can provide more accurate and complete medication counseling compared to standard practice. The trial involves 136 adults with chronic conditions like diabetes, high blood pressure, or asthma who are picking up prescriptions. The goal is to see if AI assistance improves the correctness of counseling and whether patients are more likely to take their medications as prescribed over 30 days.

What this could lead to
If successful, this could show that AI helps pharmacists provide more accurate and complete medication information, potentially improving patient adherence.
