Smart radiation adjustments aim to protect Patients' hearts and lungs

NCT ID NCT04751747

Summary

This study is testing whether updating radiation treatment plans at set times during therapy can reduce damage to healthy heart and lung tissue in people with non-small cell lung cancer. Researchers want to see if this adaptive approach lowers side effects like lung inflammation while patients receive standard radiation and immunotherapy. The trial involves 34 participants with stage II-IV lung cancer who will have their radiation plans adjusted at specific intervals regardless of tumor shrinkage.
