New study: arm exercise test may reveal hidden effects of sleep apnea
NCT ID NCT07465874
First seen Mar 17, 2026 · Last updated May 01, 2026 · Updated 8 times
Summary
This study looks at whether a 6-minute arm exercise test (called the 6PBRT) is a reliable way to measure upper body function in adults with obstructive sleep apnea. Researchers will have 80 participants with sleep apnea do the test twice to check its consistency. They will also compare test results with sleep study data and questionnaires. The goal is to see if this simple test can help doctors better understand how sleep apnea affects daily physical abilities.
