New scan could spot hidden tumors more accurately
NCT ID NCT03583528
First seen May 15, 2026 ยท Last updated May 15, 2026
Summary
This study tests a new type of PET/CT scan that uses a radioactive tracer called 68Ga-DOTATOC to find neuroendocrine tumors (NETs) and other related cancers. The scan targets a molecule found in high amounts on these tumor cells. Researchers want to see if this scan is safer and more sensitive than current imaging methods. About 800 people with known or suspected NETs will be scanned and followed for up to three years.
