First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study compares 3D cone beam CT scans to standard dental X-rays in 170 patients hospitalized for infective endocarditis, a serious heart infection. The goal is to see if the 3D scan detects more hidden mouth infections that could cause the heart infection to return. Participants will be randomly assigned to one imaging method and followed for 12 months.
