NCT ID NCT07550595

First seen May 04, 2026 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 4 times

Summary

This study tests a long-acting antibiotic called oritavancin for treating heart infections caused by bacteria. It aims to see if giving the drug based on individual blood levels can work as well as standard weeks-long IV treatments, potentially reducing hospital stays. About 20 adults with gram-positive heart infections will receive either a fixed dose or a dose adjusted by drug monitoring. The goal is to gather data for future larger trials.
