First seen Nov 12, 2025 · Last updated Apr 29, 2026 · Updated 20 times
Summary
This study tested whether a physical activity program delivered by mail and phone could help older women avoid serious health problems like heart attacks, strokes, hip fractures, and falls. About 25,000 women received exercise guides and tips, while another 25,000 continued their usual routines. The goal was to see if a no-gym-required program could improve physical function and reduce major health risks.
