Can a simple breathing adjustment help Kids' hearts and lungs after surgery?
NCT ID NCT07193719
Summary
This study is testing if a specific adjustment to a breathing machine's pressure settings can help children in two situations: after heart surgery using a heart-lung bypass machine, and in children with severe breathing failure who might need advanced life support. Researchers want to see if this adjustment improves heart function and lung mechanics, and if it can shorten the time children need breathing support or advanced life support. The study will involve 80 children and compare the new adjustment method to standard care.
