New drug aims to quiet artery inflammation in heart disease patients

Summary

This study tests whether the drug ziltivekimab can lower inflammation in the arteries of people with heart disease. About 40 adults aged 50 and older with multiple blocked arteries and high inflammation levels will receive either the drug or a placebo. Researchers will use special scans and blood tests to measure changes in artery wall inflammation and immune cell activity.
