Sleep drug YZJ-1139 put to the test in kidney patients

NCT ID NCT06671444

First seen Jun 30, 2026 · Last updated Jul 01, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This study examines how the sleep aid YZJ-1139 behaves in people with severe kidney impairment compared to those with normal kidney function. Sixteen adults will receive a single 20 mg dose, and researchers will measure drug levels in the blood and urine, as well as any side effects. The goal is to understand if kidney problems change how the drug is processed, which could lead to safer dosing recommendations.

What this could lead to

If successful, this study could provide dosing guidance for using YZJ-1139 in people with kidney disease, making the drug safer for this group.

What could go wrong

This is a very early, small study (16 people) focused on drug levels, not on treating insomnia. Results may not apply to all kidney patients or predict real-world effectiveness.
