First seen Jun 27, 2026 ยท Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This pilot study will test whether a weighted blanket can help reduce anxiety and pain in people recovering from total knee replacement surgery. Thirty adults scheduled for knee replacement at NYU Langone will be randomly assigned to receive either a weighted blanket or a regular blanket before and after surgery. The study focuses on whether patients find the blanket acceptable and easy to use, and will also measure changes in anxiety and pain scores.
