Can rehab at home match the clinic for knee arthritis?

NCT ID NCT07654309

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This trial compares two ways to deliver rehabilitation for women with knee osteoarthritis: in-person clinic visits versus tele-rehabilitation using a smartphone, tablet, or computer. Both groups receive hot packs and strengthening exercises. The study measures knee function, muscle strength, and pain to see if remote care works as well as traditional clinic visits.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.

Active substance

rehabilitation (hot pack and strengthening exercises)

What this could lead to

If tele-rehabilitation proves as effective as in-clinic care, it could offer a convenient, accessible option for managing knee osteoarthritis at home.

What could go wrong

This is a small, early-stage study with only 26 participants, so results may not apply broadly. Tele-rehabilitation may be less effective for some individuals due to lack of hands-on guidance.
