First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jul 02, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This study will see if using a Garmin smartwatch to continuously track heart rate, breathing rate, and oxygen levels can help doctors spot early warning signs in hospitalized children in Ghana. About 250 children with traumatic injuries or after appendix surgery will wear the watch. Researchers will compare how many abnormal vital signs are caught with the watch versus the usual manual checks.
