NCT ID NCT07475169

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study tested if using warm saline (body temperature) to rinse the stomach staple line during laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy could reduce early bleeding after surgery. 200 adults having weight-loss surgery were randomly assigned to receive either warm or room-temperature saline. The goal was to see if this simple, low-cost change could lower the risk of bleeding, the need for blood transfusions, or additional procedures. The approach is easy to apply and may improve early recovery.
