Common vitamin tested as lifesaver for critically ill liver patients
NCT ID NCT07184866
Summary
This study is testing if adding Vitamin C to standard hospital care helps patients with severe, sudden liver failure who also have a dangerous infection and kidney injury. About 110 very sick patients will be randomly assigned to receive either standard treatment alone or standard treatment plus Vitamin C given through a vein. Researchers will compare how well patients' blood pressure stabilizes, their kidneys recover, and whether they survive over 28 days.
