First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated Jun 23, 2026 · Updated 31 times
Summary
This study is testing a digital app called VIRTUES that provides heart patients with educational resources and treatment recommendations based on guidelines. Researchers will enroll 2000 patients with various heart conditions to use the app for about a month and give feedback. The goal is to see if the app is easy to use and helps patients feel more in control of their care, especially those who lack access to in-person clinics.

VIRTUES digital healthcare application
What this could lead to
If successful, this could provide a scalable digital tool to improve heart care access and patient self-management, especially for those in remote areas.
What could go wrong
This is an early-stage usability study with 200 patients per module, not a treatment trial. The app may not improve health outcomes or be adopted widely.
