First seen Nov 20, 2025 · Last updated Jun 14, 2026 · Updated 24 times
Summary
This study looks at whether watching a virtual reality (VR) video of an ECT session before the real procedure can lower anxiety and improve understanding. About 64 adults getting ECT for the first time will be randomly assigned to either a VR education session or standard preparation with a psychiatrist. Researchers will measure anxiety, heart rate, blood pressure, and knowledge about ECT to see if VR helps.
