Virtual reality calms nerves and lowers blood pressure in clinic
NCT ID NCT06960057
First seen Jun 26, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study tested whether a short, calming virtual reality (VR) experience could reduce blood pressure and anxiety in adults with suspected white coat hypertension—where blood pressure spikes due to clinic stress. Seventy-nine participants used a VR headset for 5 minutes during a clinic visit. Their blood pressure and anxiety were measured before and after. The goal is to see if VR can make clinic blood pressure readings more accurate and less stressful.
