Doctors test ways to spot hidden lung damage in breathing machine patients
NCT ID NCT05125952
Summary
This study aimed to compare three different methods for assessing the risk of 'self-induced lung injury' in hospitalized patients with severe breathing problems who are using a common type of breathing machine (pressure-support ventilation). Researchers enrolled 16 adult patients to see how well these assessment methods agreed with each other. The goal was to gather knowledge to help doctors better monitor and potentially prevent lung damage in critically ill patients.
