Arm strength may predict heart failure outcomes in device patients

NCT ID NCT07253909

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study will observe 72 adults with heart failure and implanted cardiac devices (ICD or CRT) to understand what affects their arm function. Researchers will measure arm strength and endurance using simple tests like throwing a medicine ball and lifting objects. The goal is to see if arm function relates to hospital visits, survival, and overall prognosis.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.

What this could lead to

If successful, this study could help doctors better predict health outcomes and tailor rehabilitation for heart failure patients with implanted heart devices.

What could go wrong

This is an observational study, not a treatment trial, so it won't directly improve patient health. Results may not apply to all heart failure patients.
