Can we predict chronic pain in teens? new study seeks answers

NCT ID NCT07602595

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study looks at 600 teens and young adults (ages 14-26) with conditions like juvenile arthritis, fibromyalgia, or past surgeries to understand why some develop long-lasting pain while others don't. Researchers will examine pain sensitivity, immune markers, and social factors to identify different pain subtypes. The goal is to better understand the causes of chronic pain, not to test a new treatment.
