New heart scanner aims to spot hidden timing issues

NCT ID NCT06641362

First seen Sep 30, 2025 · Last updated Jun 23, 2026 · Updated 32 times

Summary

This study tests a new ultra-high frequency ECG (UHF-ECG) to see if it can better diagnose ventricular electrical dyssynchrony — a condition where the heart's lower chambers don't beat in sync. Researchers will compare it to a standard 12-lead ECG in 360 adults with bradycardia or heart failure who are scheduled for a pacemaker. The goal is to see if the new device is safer and more accurate at detecting these timing problems.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.

Active substance

Ultra-High Frequency Electrocardiogram (UHF-ECG) device

What this could lead to

If successful, this could give doctors a more accurate way to detect heart timing problems, potentially improving pacemaker therapy decisions.

What could go wrong

This is a mid-stage device study with 360 participants. The new ECG may not prove significantly better than the standard test, and results may not apply to all heart patients.

Conditions

The condition(s) this trial relates to.

Bradycardia cardiac ventricle disorder heart failure Ventricular Dysfunction
