New hope for rare cancer: which drug works better after first treatment fails?
NCT ID NCT04383119
First seen Jan 07, 2026 · Last updated May 13, 2026 · Updated 19 times
Summary
This study tests two chemotherapy drugs, trabectedin and gemcitabine, in people with advanced leiomyosarcoma (a rare soft tissue cancer) that has spread or cannot be removed by surgery. All participants have already received at least one prior chemotherapy treatment. The goal is to see which drug better delays cancer growth and improves survival. The study also includes an optional observational group for those who do not wish to be randomly assigned to a drug.
