First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 18, 2026 · Updated 22 times

Summary

This study tests whether personalized text messages can help older adults (age 50+) with heart failure improve their self-care, like taking medications correctly and following a heart-healthy diet. Participants will be randomly assigned to receive either usual care or usual care plus about 5 text messages per week for 12 weeks. The goal is to see if this simple, low-cost approach is feasible and effective for improving self-care and quality of life.
