First seen May 08, 2026 · Last updated Jun 05, 2026 · Updated 4 times

Summary

This study tests if a mild electrical patch placed on the skin (called TENS) can prevent breathing problems after weight-loss surgery in people with severe obesity. About 70 participants will be randomly assigned to receive either TENS or a fake device. The main goal is to see if TENS helps the diaphragm (the main breathing muscle) work better right after surgery.
