Can a smartphone and a nurse help control blood pressure in rural kidney patients?
NCT ID NCT04098354
First seen Jun 24, 2026 · Last updated Jun 26, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study looks at whether home blood pressure monitoring, combined with guidance from a case manager, can help people with chronic kidney disease and high blood pressure living in remote areas. About 146 participants in northern Alberta, Canada, will either use the monitoring system with usual care or with extra support from a case manager who adjusts their medications. The goal is to see if the extra support leads to better blood pressure control over one year.
