New app aims to ease cancer symptoms for rural patients

Summary

This study tests a program called FOCUS, delivered through a smartphone app and telemedicine, to help people with advanced cancer manage common symptoms like trouble sleeping, worry, sadness, and fatigue. The goal is to improve quality of life and make these skills accessible to patients in rural and Appalachian areas. About 120 adults with advanced lung, breast, prostate, multiple myeloma, or melanoma cancer will participate.
