First seen Apr 10, 2026 · Last updated Apr 29, 2026 · Updated 4 times
Summary
This small pilot study tested a noninvasive brain stimulation technique called tDCS in 5 adults with treatment-resistant depression. Participants received up to 20-minute sessions of higher-than-usual electrical current over 4 to 6 weeks. The goal was to see if a stronger dose could improve depressive symptoms. The study was terminated early, so results are limited.
