Radiation beams take aim at spreading sarcoma in young patients
NCT ID NCT06796543
First seen Jun 24, 2026 · Last updated Jul 14, 2026 · Updated 3 times
Summary
This study tests whether giving targeted radiation to cancer that has spread (metastasized) can help children, teens, and young adults with sarcoma live longer. About 70 participants with soft tissue or bone sarcoma will receive consolidative radiation therapy to their metastatic spots. The goal is to see if this approach improves survival compared to past outcomes.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
- Active substance
- consolidative radiation therapy
- What this could lead to
- If it works, this could improve survival rates for young patients with sarcoma that has spread to a few spots in the body.
- What could go wrong
- This is a small, early-phase study without a control group, so results may not be definitive. Radiation also has side effects like fatigue and skin irritation.
