Can a Stress-Busting app boost baby chances?
NCT ID NCT03085212
First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This pilot study tests whether an online stress management program called Stress Free Now can lower stress and possibly increase pregnancy rates in women aged 18-34 who have been trying to conceive for 6-12 months. Forty women will be randomly assigned to either the program or a waitlist and followed for three months. The main goal is to see if stress levels drop, with pregnancy as a secondary outcome.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
Stress Free Now (online stress management program using mindfulness and cognitive-behavioral therapy)
What this could lead to
If it works, this could point toward a simple, low-cost way to reduce stress and possibly improve pregnancy chances for women struggling to conceive.
What could go wrong
This is a very small pilot study (40 women) with no blinding, so results may not be reliable or generalizable. The main goal is to measure stress, not pregnancy, so any effect on pregnancy rates is uncertain.
