NCT ID NCT05005949

First seen Nov 13, 2025 · Last updated Apr 28, 2026 · Updated 16 times

Summary

This study follows 400 adults with persistent atrial fibrillation (a type of irregular heartbeat) who are getting a procedure called cryoablation. Doctors use a special catheter to freeze small areas of heart tissue that cause the abnormal rhythm. The goal is to see how well this treatment prevents the heart rhythm problem from coming back over three years, and to check for any safety issues. This is not a cure, but a way to control the condition.
