First seen Jun 26, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study will follow 100 people who need a stoma (an opening in the belly to pass stool) after surgery. Some will have their stoma site marked and get education before surgery, while others will not. The goal is to see if these steps improve quality of life and reduce problems like skin issues or leaks within 30 days after surgery. The study compares scheduled and emergency surgeries.
