NCT ID NCT06561919

First seen Jan 07, 2026 · Last updated May 11, 2026 · Updated 21 times

Summary

This study looks at how deep brain stimulation (STN-DBS) changes speech in people with Parkinson's disease who also have impulse control issues. Researchers will record voices of 60 participants before and after treatment to measure changes in clarity, emotion, and meaning. The goal is to better understand the effects of stimulation on communication, not to provide a new treatment.
