Summary
This study tests if a nerve block called a stellate ganglion block can lower the chance of developing atrial fibrillation (a fast, irregular heartbeat) after heart surgery. About 220 adults having valve or bypass surgery will receive either the nerve block or a placebo. The goal is to see if the block reduces the number of people who experience this common complication.
