Can treating sleep apnea help control heart rhythm?

NCT ID NCT06263608

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study looks at whether a structured program to find and treat obstructive sleep apnea can reduce the amount of time people with atrial fibrillation have an irregular heartbeat. About 209 adults with AF will use a home sleep test device and a Fitbit smartwatch to track their heart rhythm. If sleep apnea is found, they will get standard treatment like CPAP, and their heart rhythm will be monitored for three months before and after treatment.
