New imaging registry aims to sharpen cancer treatment precision

NCT ID NCT07636148

First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 2 times

Summary

This study will collect data from 2,000 patients in the Netherlands and France who are receiving standard, minimally invasive cancer treatments like tumor ablation or catheter-based therapies for liver, lung, kidney, or bone cancers. During these procedures, a special CT scanner called spectral angio-CT captures extra imaging details. The goal is to see how this extra information relates to treatment success and could improve future planning and guidance. No experimental treatments are given, and patients receive standard care.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.

What this could lead to
If successful, this could help doctors better plan and predict outcomes for minimally invasive cancer treatments using advanced imaging.
What could go wrong
This is an observational registry, not a treatment trial. It collects data only and does not test a new therapy, so direct patient benefits are not expected.
