First seen Jan 08, 2026 · Last updated Apr 29, 2026 · Updated 23 times
Summary
This study looks at whether drinking a daily whole-food plant-based smoothie for two weeks before revision knee replacement surgery can reduce inflammation and pain afterward. Twenty-four adults scheduled for surgery will either add the smoothie or make no diet changes. Researchers will check if the smoothie is easy to follow and if it lowers inflammatory markers, changes gut bacteria, and improves pain and opioid use after surgery.
