Smokers' addiction may blind them to gum disease warning signs
NCT ID NCT07457892
Summary
This study looked at whether a person's level of nicotine addiction affects how aware they are of their gum disease. Researchers surveyed and examined 350 adult smokers who had gingivitis or periodontitis. The goal was to understand if stronger addiction makes people less likely to notice or acknowledge symptoms of gum problems.
