First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 24 times

Summary

This study is testing whether a smartphone app called SMART-IBD can help teenagers (ages 13-17) with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) take their medications as prescribed and improve their self-management skills. The app includes daily symptom diaries, medication reminders, educational content, and monthly challenges. Seventy participants will be split into two groups: one using the full app and one using only a daily diary. The goal is to see if the app improves medication adherence and disease control over a 5-month period.
