Wearable smart belt coaches back pain sufferers through exercises
NCT ID NCT07555795
First seen Jun 26, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study tests a wearable belt that senses muscle activity and gives real-time feedback through a phone app to help people with chronic low back pain perform core exercises correctly. Forty adults with non-specific low back pain will be randomly assigned to use the belt plus standard care or standard care alone for 8 weeks. Researchers will measure changes in pain, disability, and exercise adherence to see if the biofeedback helps improve outcomes.

- What this could lead to
- If it works, this could provide a simple, home-based tool to help people with chronic back pain exercise correctly and reduce their pain and disability.
- What could go wrong
- This is a small early-stage trial with only 40 participants, so results may not apply to everyone. The device may not significantly improve pain or adherence compared to standard care alone.
