First seen Jan 11, 2026 · Last updated May 08, 2026 · Updated 15 times

Summary

This study tests whether increasing daily physical activity using a motivational smartphone app can slow cognitive decline in people with a sleep disorder that often leads to Parkinson's disease. Researchers will enroll 130 participants (80 with the sleep disorder and 50 healthy volunteers) and track changes in thinking, memory, and brain health over one year. The goal is to find a simple, non-drug way to protect brain function in the earliest stages of disease.
