Second chance surgery: can rerouting the gut fix reflux and weight regain?

NCT ID NCT07728682

First seen Jul 27, 2026 · Last updated Aug 04, 2026 · Updated 3 times

Summary

This trial tests whether converting a prior sleeve gastrectomy to a procedure called intestinal transit bipartition can improve stomach emptying, reduce acid reflux, and help with weight control. Forty adults who had sleeve gastrectomy and now have weight regain or reflux will undergo the revisional surgery and be followed for six months. Researchers will measure changes in gastric emptying, reflux symptoms, hormone levels, and gut health.
