First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated Apr 28, 2026 · Updated 24 times

Summary

This study tested a special collagen implant that slowly releases sirolimus around a new dialysis fistula (a surgically created blood vessel connection). The goal was to see if it helps the fistula become usable for dialysis sooner and stay open longer. The trial involved 269 adults with advanced kidney disease who needed or were starting dialysis.
